The team framed this scene inside a round ornament shape. It features the gingerbread man holding hands with a smiling snowman. There are even little stars floating in the background.

Missing a Bite

Someone took a giant chomp out of this poor cookie’s left arm. He still looks pretty happy about it though. He is just standing there with his little bowtie.

This one always gets a laugh from my second graders. They spend ten minutes arguing over who took the bite.

Peeking Out of a Cookie Jar

Here we have our baked friend popping right out of a round cookie jar. The jar is decorated with a row of cute hearts. The lid is resting casually off to the side.

It is one of my favorite coloring pages of gingerbread man because of the patterns. You can get really creative with the jar design.

Sitting Under a Christmas Wreath

This gingerbread man is sitting flat on the ground. A massive decorated wreath hangs right above his head. The wreath is full of round ornaments and a big bow.

It practically begs for some glitter on those ornaments. Just maybe do the glitter part outside on the porch.

We placed this cookie character next to a classic Christmas tree. It has a big star right on top and round baubles everywhere.

Trees give kids a lot of space to use their green markers. These gingerbread man coloring sheets are great for practicing staying in the lines.

Standing Beside a Mug of Cocoa

Hot chocolate is a winter staple in our house. This page features a giant mug filled with marshmallows and a striped candy cane. The mug itself has a little tree stamped on it.

The gingerbread man is standing right next to the cozy drink. honestly I think it is the coziest picture in the whole collection.

Surrounded by Falling Snowflakes

This cookie is designed to look like a hanging tree ornament. He has a little loop on his head and is surrounded by big falling snowflakes.

Adding some metallic silver to those snowflakes looks amazing. It is a really simple but festive design.

Tips for Coloring Gingerbread Men

1. The Right Shade of Brown

Finding the perfect cookie color is surprisingly tough. Standard brown can look too dark and muddy on paper. I always tell my kids to reach for the tan or light bronze crayons instead.

You want that golden baked look. If you only have dark brown, just tell them to color really lightly. It makes these free gingerbread man coloring pages look much tastier.

2. Make the Icing Pop

Real gingerbread has bright white royal icing. If you leave the paper blank for the icing, it can sometimes look a bit flat. Grab a white gel pen or a chalk marker.

Tracing over the squiggly lines with white ink makes it stand out against the brown. It really brings the printable Gingerbread man coloring pages to life in a cool way.

3. Candy Button Colors

The buttons do not have to be boring. I usually push my kids to use neon or metallic markers for the gumdrops. Red and green are classic choices for a reason.

But honestly purple and pink buttons look amazing too. Let them experiment with whatever weird color combinations they want. It is their cookie anyway.

4. Shading the Edges

Cookies are usually darker around the outside where they bake faster in the oven. You can mimic this with a darker brown colored pencil. Just gently shade the very edges of the character.

Leave the center of the tummy a bit lighter. It gives the Christmas coloring pages gingerbread man a cool 3D effect. Kids love learning this trick.

5. Textured Backgrounds

A plain white background is fine but a little boring. We sometimes put a piece of sandpaper under the coloring page. Then you gently rub a crayon over the background space.

It creates this awesome grainy texture that looks like flour or snow. It is a messy trick but totally worth it. The kids think it is absolute magic.

6. Layering Colors for Cocoa

Some of these pages have hot chocolate mugs. Cocoa isn’t just one flat color. I teach my students to layer a light brown first.

Then add some dark brown near the edges of the cup. It makes the drink look deep and rich. These coloring pages of gingerbread man become little art lessons.

7. Glitter on the Snow

Winter scenes absolutely need some sparkle. I am not a huge fan of loose glitter because it gets literally everywhere. Glitter glue pens are the ultimate mom hack here.

Just dab little dots of silver or ice blue glitter on the snowflakes. It takes a while to dry. But it makes the gingerbread man coloring sheets look like they belong on the fridge.

8. Don’t Forget the Cheeks

Every good gingerbread cookie needs rosy cheeks. A tiny circle of soft pink crayon does the trick. Do not press too hard or it looks like clown makeup.

Just a light dusting of pink right under the eyes. It makes them look cold and festive. It is perhaps my favorite little detail to add.
