Ryder is ten years old. Ten, and he runs the Lookout, a red ATV and a whole squad of rescue dogs from a tablet, while half the ten-year-olds in my old classroom couldn’t keep track of a library book.
I think that’s the appeal, really… he’s a kid who got handed the car keys and didn’t crash. These coloring pages of Ryder from PAW Patrol send him up cliffs and into mud, then let him nap in a hammock when the shift ends.

I love how Ryder’s two giggling pups make building a snowman look like the best part of a snowy day. I’d leave a little white on the snow and go wild with bright winter clothes—those chilly paws will be ready for a cozy blanket soon!
I love Ryder’s little Santa moment, delivering pup treats through a snowy village—those lucky pups must be counting down the pawsteps! I’d leave a few snowy patches white and let the kids pick the coziest colors for the village houses.
I love how Ryder has gathered both happy pups into one big hug—it’s the sort of cuddle that usually ends with someone licking your nose! I’d leave a few little yellow patches in the grassy hill for dandelions, because every puppy picnic needs a flower or two.
I love how Ryder’s little helper holds the paint can while he freshens up the white fence—every big job needs a trusty pup! I’d leave the fence mostly white and go wild with bright flowers along the bottom.
I love how Ryder stretches his arms out for balance as he rolls down this gentle hill—it reminds me of little ones pretending to be airplanes. I’d give his skateboard a bright splash of orange, but I suspect a rainbow design would win the vote around here!

Ryder PAW Patrol Coloring Pages Highlights
Camping Beside a Tent Roasting Marshmallows
Campfire, tent, a marshmallow on a stick. Close to the flames, Ryder holds it out to roast while a pup sits right beside him. A ring of stones circles the logs.
Good for a fall camping unit at school, or a backyard sleepover. The fire and tent are big, easy shapes, and the faces are there for older siblings who like the fiddly parts.
Carrying a Rescued Kitten Out of a Tree
Mid-stride, kitten tucked into one arm, Ryder hurries away from a thick tree trunk with the rescue already done. You can see the relief on his face, and the kitten seems fine with the whole arrangement.
No sirens, nothing scary on the paper at all. I’d hand this to a kid who hides behind the couch during the tense parts of an episode, because the happy ending is already drawn in.
Dressed as a Pirate Captain Steering a Toy Ship
Captain Ryder! He’s in a pirate coat and a captain’s hat with a small emblem on the front, steering a toy ship that sits on the sand going absolutely nowhere. Three round portholes run along the hull, a sail rises behind him, and a palm tree and a starfish fill in the beach.
Pure pretend play, the best kind. Of all the coloring sheets of Ryder from PAW Patrol in this collection, this is the one I’d set out at a pirate birthday party.
Driving His ATV Through a Muddy Field
Big splash energy on this one. Head-on, hands on the handlebars, Ryder rides the ATV straight at you while mud flies up from the wheels in fat drops.
Those splash shapes are chunky enough for a toddler’s marker. Kids into trucks and anything with wheels will claim it first, and the front lights and fenders give detail lovers enough to work on.
Flying a Colorful Kite on a Windy Hilltop
A diamond kite rides high on the wind, a tail of little bows trailing beneath it. Down on the hilltop, Ryder holds the line steady.
So much open sky up there… kids who like adding their own birds and clouds will have a field day. Spring break, a breezy March afternoon, a weather unit about wind, it fits all three.
Looking Surprised at a Pup Pad Alert
Mouth open, eyebrows up. The Pup Pad in front of him shows a giant exclamation mark, with burst lines around it and a fat arrow pointing down at the screen, just in case anyone missed the emergency.
It’s the split second before every rescue starts, frozen in place. Because it’s a close-up, the spaces are wide and forgiving for little kids, but the screen frame and flash lines reward a steadier hand.
Lowering a Rope During a Mountain Rescue
Up top, Ryder braces at the cliff edge and feeds rope down to a pup in a helmet working its way up the rock. Snowy peaks stack up behind them.
This is the one for older kids. There’s a lot of rock to cover, two characters at very different heights, and a mountain range that rewards patience.
Napping in a Hammock With a Pup
Off duty, finally. Out cold in a hammock strung between two trees, Ryder has a pup curled up asleep on his chest.
The calmest scene in the whole set. Save it for the wind-down hour before lights out, or for a classroom rest-time table when the room needs to settle.
Tips for Coloring Ryder
1. Spiky Hair That Stays Spiky
Dark, spiky and brown, that’s Ryder’s hair on nearly every one of these pages, a little crown of points sweeping up and back. Well, less a crown than a wave that froze mid-break. Run your strokes the direction each spike points, never across it.
Press harder down by his forehead and ease off as you reach the tips. Where one spike overlaps the next, work a bit more pencil into the seam so they don’t merge.
2. Ryder’s Red Vest
Mostly red, with smaller doses of white, yellow and blue, plus a red PAW Patrol badge pinned near the top. Under it he wears a white long-sleeved shirt, so the sleeves can stay paper white or take the faintest gray.
On the convoy page, that red is how the eye finds Ryder among all the pups and vehicles, the same way a red suitcase jumps out on an airport baggage carousel. So go bold there.
3. The Pup Pad Alert
In the show, the Pup Pad works like a tablet and a phone at once, and it’s linked to every pup’s collar. Ryder even plays games on it when nobody needs rescuing.
Make the exclamation mark the loudest thing on that page. Red marker for the mark itself, light blue pencil across the rest of the screen, and quick yellow crayon on the burst lines so they look rougher than the glass.
4. Ryder’s ATV, Number 01
His ATV is red, its vehicle number is 01, and in the show it switches into a hovercraft or a snowmobile when the job calls for it. Anyone who knows their PAW Patrol will want 01 written somewhere on the front, so leave them room.
For the muddy field page, try mixing materials. Color the ATV in red marker, wait a minute for it to dry, then drag a brown crayon lightly across the wheels and lower body.
5. The Lookout Slide
After a briefing, the pups jump onto the slide and ride it straight down into their vehicles. Not the worst commute in Adventure Bay. The thumbs-up page shows that slide coiling around the Lookout, ducking behind the tower and coming back out the other side.
Pick one bright color for the whole slide and stick with it. Little hands tend to grab a new crayon every time the slide disappears behind the tower, and suddenly Ryder’s headquarters has three slides.
6. Captain Ryder’s Toy Ship
A toy ship parked on sand doesn’t need to look seaworthy. Paint it like a wooden bath toy instead: one bold hull color, then a ring of gold or yellow around each of the three portholes so they look like brass fittings.
The wheel Ryder is steering wants a different brown from the hull, or the two melt into one blob. Go mid-brown on the rim and spokes, then press darker on the knobs at the end of each spoke, where a real captain’s hands would wear the wood smooth.
7. The Rescued Kitten and Baby Bird
That baby bird in Ryder’s hands is far too small to be Chickaletta, Mayor Goodway’s purse chicken, who needs rescuing every third episode or so.
And the kitten probably isn’t one of Mayor Humdinger’s Kitten Catastrophe Crew either . . . though somebody at your table will insist it is.
Decide on the kitten’s coat before you start. Orange tabby stripes look great in pencil when each stripe follows the curve of the body instead of running straight across.
8. Hammock and Fishing Dock Days
Most Ryder from PAW Patrol coloring pages show him working, which makes the hammock and fishing dock pages feel like a stolen weekend. Stripe the hammock in his vest colors, red and white with a bit of blue, bending each stripe along the sag of the fabric. .
At the dock, the bobber floating at the end of his line is the smallest thing on the page and somehow the part kids remember. Top half red, bottom half white, like the cheap plastic ones rattling around every tackle box. Perfect last page of the night.
