Look, some days are just sheer chaos in this house. The kids are loud and the dog is barking at absolutely nothing again. I desperately needed a quiet afternoon activity so our design team put together these adorable Tuxedo Sam coloring pages.
Honestly it actually worked. They sat at the kitchen island for like 47 minutes just coloring.

Sage helped me test the paper layouts first. She is usually my absolute toughest critic.
She gave them a thumbs up after ruining three crayons. So now you can just grab any of these free Tuxedo Sam coloring pages below.

Tuxedo Sam at a Fancy Dinner Table
This little penguin is clearly waiting for a five-star meal. He is sitting at a fancy table with a plate and a tiny fork. I love the little chandelier in the background.
My five-year-old, Sam, insisted the plate needed spaghetti. He colored a giant red mess right in the middle of the plate. It is one of the best printable Tuxedo Sam coloring pages if your kids like adding their own doodles.
Gliding in a Gondola
Here he is paddling a gondola through what looks like icy water. The contrast of a Venice boat in the arctic is kind of hilarious. The bridge in the background adds a nice architectural touch.
Kids can go crazy with the water reflections here. You don’t have to stick to just plain blue. Have them try mixing turquoise and white for that frosty ocean look.
Floating in a Hot Air Balloon
There is something so peaceful about a hot air balloon. Sam is just chilling in the basket while drifting over icebergs. The big balloon stripes are perfect for rainbow colors.
My daughter actually turned this into a night scene. She used dark purples for the sky and yellow for the little stars. It makes a beautiful Tuxedo Sam coloring sheet when finished.
Reaching for a Library Book
This one feels very cozy and quiet. He is standing in a library pulling a big book off the shelf. There is even a neat little globe sitting on the desk.
All those books mean lots of color choices. You can make a rainbow bookshelf or stick to dusty old leather browns. It is one of the more detailed Tuxedo Sam coloring pages for kids who have patience.
Performing on Stage
Grab a top hat and a cane. He is ready for his big musical number on stage with the curtains pulled back. There are little music notes floating around him too.
The stage curtains are begging for a rich velvet red crayon. Or maybe a deep purple if they are feeling a bit dramatic today. Printing out these free Tuxedo Sam coloring pages gives them a chance to play with bold colors.
Inspecting the Globe
Little detective Sam is looking closely at a globe with a magnifying glass. The room behind him has a window and a cute little plant. It feels very studious.
The magnifying glass is a tricky texture to color. You have to leave some white space to make it look like glass. I love watching kids figure out how to make that work.
Looking Through a Monocle
This is peak fancy penguin behavior right here. He is holding a tiny monocle up to his eye. The background has a framed sailboat picture on the wall.
You can really practice fine motor skills on this one. The monocle chain and the tiny books require some focus. It is definitely a favorite Tuxedo Sam coloring sheet in our house.
Sitting on a Royal Throne
King of the icebergs! He is sitting on a plush red velvet throne wearing a tiny crown. The background has fancy drapes and little stars.
Metallic crayons or markers are an absolute must for that crown. Give him some shiny gold or silver. It really elevates these printable Tuxedo Sam coloring pages to the next level.
Tips for Coloring Tuxedo Sam
1. Nailing the Perfect Blue
Tuxedo Sam isn’t just any regular blue. He is a very specific shade of soft periwinkle.
If you just grab the standard dark blue crayon he ends up looking a bit too intense. Try layering a light blue with a tiny hint of purple instead.
2. Don’t Leave the Belly Blank
A common mistake is just leaving his stomach the bright white of the paper. That makes him look flat and a little unfinished.
You need to add some dimension here. Take a very pale grey and lightly shade the edges where his belly curves.
3. Making the Bow Tie Stand Out
His bow tie is usually a bright cherry red. It is the focal point of his whole outfit.
You really want that red to punch through the blue. I always suggest using a marker for the bow tie even if you color the rest with crayons.
4. Handling Ice and Snow
A lot of these scenes take place in icy environments which can frustrate kids. They usually just leave the whole background blank.
Show them how to use light blues and purples to draw shadows on the ice. These are great Tuxedo Sam coloring pages for kids to practice winter scenes.
5. Shading the Hats
He is always wearing that cute little sailor hat. Or rather a top hat if he is feeling extra fancy today.
The hats need just as much attention as the penguin. Use a darker shade of whatever color you choose for the hat band to create a shadow underneath it.
6. Creating Realistic Water
Some of the pages have him floating in water. Water is never just one flat color because it reflects the sky.
Mix three different blues together. Draw horizontal lines instead of coloring in circles to make it look like ripples.
7. Adding Warm Accents
Because Sam is blue and surrounded by ice the pictures can feel very cold. You need to balance that out.
Warm colors are your best friend here. Encourage the kids to color the background objects yellow or warm brown.
8. Don’t Be Afraid to Mix Mediums
We get so stuck thinking we have to use just crayons or just markers. Will mixing them always look perfect? I don’t know honestly.
I let my kids completely destroy the rules. Color the big spaces with soft pencils and use gel pens for the tiny details.
