Hi, Caitlin here. đź‘‹
As a mom of three and a former teacher, I take privacy, especially children’s privacy, extremely seriously. When I’m online looking for resources for my own kids (Leo, Sam, and Lily), I want to know exactly what is happening with my data.
I built LittleColorables.com to be a safe, helpful resource for parents and educators. I am not in the business of selling your personal information.
Here is a plain-English explanation of what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe.
1. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
This is the most important part: LittleColorables.com is directed at adults (parents, guardians, and teachers) who are downloading resources for children.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
- We do not ask for ages, names, or addresses of children.
- If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us immediately, and we will delete it.
2. Information We DO Collect
We collect very limited information to help the website run smoothly.
- Log Files: Like almost every website on the internet, our server automatically logs basic information when you visit. This includes your IP address, browser type (e.g., Chrome or Safari), referring page (e.g., if you came from Pinterest), and the time of your visit. This helps us fix bugs and see which coloring pages are popular.
- Cookies: We use cookies (small text files stored on your device) to improve your experience. For example, cookies help the site remember if you’ve already seen our “Welcome” popup so we don’t annoy you with it every time.
- Voluntary Information: If you send us an email or sign up for a future newsletter, we will have your email address. We use this only to reply to you or send you the updates you asked for. We never sell your email to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services (Who Else Sees Data)
We use a few trusted third-party tools to make this site work. These services may collect anonymous data about your visit.
- Google Analytics: We use this to understand how people use the site (e.g., “Wow, 500 people visited the Pokemon page today!”). Google Analytics anonymizes your IP address before storing it.
- Advertising Partners: (If applicable in the future) We may display ads to cover the costs of hosting this website. Third-party ad networks (like Google AdSense) may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the data strictly for:
- Website Maintenance: Ensuring the site loads quickly and doesn’t crash.
- Content Strategy: Understanding which pages you like best (so I know to make more “Bluey” pages and fewer “Broccoli” pages).
- Communication: Responding to your emails or requests.
5. Security
We use SSL encryption (that little padlock icon in your browser address bar) to ensure that any data sent between your computer and our server is secure. While no system is 100% hack-proof, we take reasonable measures to protect our site.
6. Your Rights (CCPA & GDPR)
Depending on where you live, you have rights regarding your data:
- The Right to Know: You can ask us what data we have about you.
- The Right to Delete: You can ask us to delete your data.
- The Right to Opt-Out: You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time (though some parts of the site might look a little wonky without them).
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally as the website grows. If we make major changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
